My Remote Recording Journey

I just wanted to share a little more about my remote recording journey with you.

It was 2015 and I had just parted ways with The Darkness and was left in a state of shock, complete vulnerability, and not knowing what to do. I knew that no-one would be calling me for live work for at least a year (everyone just assumed I was busy), and I felt completely out of control.

Instead of being devastated for a year (mentally and financially), I decided to use it as an opportunity, and take control.

I sat down and thought about all the possible things I could do with my skills as a drummer, and maximise the things I loved about my job whilst minimising the things I didn’t.

I loved playing with lots of different people (part of the reason I realised being a part of a band wasn’t for me), I live for playing songs, and I hated the fact that my income was based on forces outside of my control. I wanted to be firmly in control of my destiny.

It was in the summer of 2015 that the concept of EmilyDrums.com was born, and I spent the next few years researching how to run a remote studio, from the gear, to what to charge, getting clients, and more than anything, finding out all the things I didn’t know I needed to know about!

It was a mad journey of lots of trials and tribulations, a lot of experimenting, a lot of failures, but little by little, EmilyDrums.com grew, and now (with the madness that is COVID-19) it is my household’s primary source of income (my husband is a tour manager! Doh!).

It was in March 2020, that I decided that I needed to help other musicians to pivot into the remote recording world, and keep their careers alive and well, gain back an income, and some certainty in their lives. It was at that moment that the Remote Recording Business Course was born.

I’ve included every little piece of knowledge I have, from all the courses I’ve taken (over £5000’s worth), all the business books I’ve ready (over 100), Podcasts I’ve listened to, and all the things I’ve learnt, whilst leaving out all the stuff completely irrelevant to musicians, that is a waste of time, money, and energy.

Everything you need to have a successful remote recording business is collated in this one course. It’s simple, to the point, with tons of templates, tips and tricks I’ve honed and want to share with you.

I want you to look back on this crazy period of time, and thing, ‘wow that was an incredible turning point for me and my career, and I thrived against the adversity.’ And to do that, you need to take this next step and enrol in the Remote Recording Business Course now.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Sending you lots of love and health

Em x
